Dr Diana Walford CBE
Diana Walford has held senior positions in the NHS, the civil service, a non-departmental public body and in higher education.
Posts held include Deputy Chief Medical Officer for England and Director of Healthcare on the NHS Management Executive, Director of the Public Health Laboratory Service and Principal of Mansfield College, University of Oxford.
She was an honorary consultant haematologist to the Central Middlesex Hospital.
In addition to her current non-executive role as Chair of Trustees of the Inner Circle Educational Trust, she is a member of the Council of the University of Liverpool.
Previously she chaired the Board of Trustees of Regent’s University London.
Other non-executive director positions have included the Board of University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust; Deputy Chairman of the Council of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine; non-executive director of the NHS Blood and Transplant Authority; a Trustee of Sue Ryder and a Member of the State Honours Committee.
She is an Honorary Governor of the Ditchley Foundation and was awarded a CBE in 2002 for services to public health.
